Passive Solar Greek Revival Home

MANCHESTER VILLAGE, VERMONT

This Vermont house was built with its facade facing due south to take advantage of the winter solar gain. The Passive Solar features and super-insulation combined with generous roof overhangs will keep this home warm in winter and cool in the summer. A ground source heat pump (geothermal) system will provide heating and cooling; efficiently and affordably. Not only have the walls been filled with insulation, but they have been wrapped in an exterior blanket of it as well.

Although large on the outside, the interior spaces feel quite intimate thanks to changes in ceiling heights, cozy nooks and the use of warm and durable materials. We designed the three bathrooms and powder room in this home, with the intent of making each bathroom its own design. We also selected all the tile, finish material and paint colors throughout the home. The result is a fresh, fun, colorful home!
