Programming of Spaces
In this creative initial phase of the design process, the designer and client establish the clients’ needs and discuss lifestyle patterns and physical requirements. We encourage our clients to collect images and create their own vision board capturing how they want their space to feel and look. Together, we develop a wish list to define the scope and specific nature of the project.
The designer reviews any existing conditions or site restraints. Photographs and dimensions are recorded, and if appropriate, accurate drawings and documents are compiled as a foundation for schematic design.
We develop one or two design proposals. These ideas are intended to evoke an emotional response from the client and stimulate discussion in order to better focus the scope of the design process.
Now the fun begins! We search out the materials, finishes, and design details to make the project unique. We might be developing a color palate, discovering flooring options, and/or selecting fabrics and furniture.
Resources are available to design professionals that are not necessarily available to the owner. MJG Interiors offers purchasing services of interior products for our clients.
